The
Runterra Race Series is the first major U.S.
multi-event running race series using a “green”
platform to produce races that will have a minimal
impact on the environment by recycling at least 50%
of all products used to produce each event and
partnering the most successful green living expos
and organizations nationwide.
Ultimately, the goal of Runterra is
to produce a race that is 100% “green.
Because runners
log many miles on dirt trails, mountain sides,
pavement, streets, and even snow they are the
perfect audience to help make a big impact on
preserving the planet. Now Runterra is asking
runners to take a stand toward preserving the earth;
learn ways in which they can live a little (or a
lot) more green. Runterra will stage events where
runners join efforts to create less waste by using
recyclable or biodegradable products, lower fuel
emissions by providing plenty of access to public
transportation and incentives for walking or biking
to the event, and more flexibility for runners by
including a virtual race.
